Thanks to financial help in the form of your donations, we are able to support active duty troops deployed to Afghanistan and elsewhere, wounded soldiers and their families, and veterans in need almost every day.
Here are excerpts from a few of the many thank you notes we receive for the help that is only possible because ordinary Americans contribute to the Foundation.
On behalf of the Board, our volunteers and the folks we help: THANK YOU!
| “We received the packages yesterday, and man, my Soldiers were really grateful. It was some great stuff in those boxes and we are going to use every bit of it. We are doing convoy security over here and we are on the road everyday and it isn't a joke, the threat is real out here. Thanks for the support, it really makes a difference to know people actually care!" — 1st SGT D.G., Afghanistan |
“My kids talked my head off over Christmas. Thanks for the [phone] cards.” — TSGT "Sam" “I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to the Foundation for all your help - you are angels from above…thanks again and God bless.” — SSGT J.V., Afghanistan “God bless you and I can't say thank you enough for your wonderful support!.” — Chaplain J.C., Qatar “Thank you so much! I was honestly just hoping for a month's worth of diapers or help to that effect. This is above and beyond anything anticipated.” — Sr Airman T.W., active duty
“...so many of our soldiers have been able to call home… they are able to call their loved ones back home to ease the pain of being away. Thank you guys so much. You are such a great blessing to us!” — SSGT V.A., Afghanistan
“Thank you for the care package full of phone cards you sent in support of our soldiers in Iraq who are busy writing the final chapter of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn. On behalf of the soldiers, sailors and airmen of the Task Force Ironhorse, I offer my gratitude for your generous donation. Your donation gave our soldiers the opportunity to communicate with loved ones at home and they are very appreciative. Your kindness makes a huge impact on the soldiers here. Thanks again for your support, kindness and patriotism.” — Major General D.P. “We certainly did not expect a donation as large as this.” — L.S., wife of a wounded veteran
| “…I'm speechless. I don't know what to say or do, I mean…how do I thank you all? I'm a vet, and I'm sitting here crying because of this. Thank you so much, thank you… You don't know what it means to me.” —J.B., a wounded veteran |
“The 18 boxes containing over 400 pairs of sweatshirts and pants will benefit wounded soldiers through the CASF. Often, our patients are caught off guard by the suddenness of their injuries and arrive with minimal clothing. The sweatshirts and pants you sent enable them to wear comfortable attire. With the thoughtful contributions of people like you,we were able to provide additional comfort and support for our wounded warriors. Once again, thank you for being so caring. We are all very grateful.” — Captain T.S. “Thank you so much for the phone cards. The troops of the 287th express their appreciation each time they resupply...Our unit is stationed in a remote FOB here in Afghanistan that offers little activity for soldier morale. The most motivating activity is the opportunity to communicate home.” — Captain M.D.
“We would like to thank you for the help the TREA Foundation has given our family. We are so grateful for all you have.” — L.N., mother and caretaker of a wounded vet “On behalf of the soldiers and staff assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit, I want to thank you for your recent donation. Your gift is invaluable in raising the morale of our soldiers and their families during this time of transition. Your support is instrumental in our efforts to create and sustain the best environment for healing of our Warriors. Thank you again for your generosity.” — Colonel K.W. “Thank you for your thoughts and phone cards. Many troops as well as myself benefited from your thoughtfulness!” — Major R.
| "Please know how grateful our family is for your support in the past. This support helped in sustaining us during this trying season. We just want you to know how thankful we are for what you have done for our family and the many families who have been touched by these wars.” — C.C, mother of a wounded OIF veteran | “Praise the Lord! Thank you all so much for what you do. I don't know how we would survive without the love and support of so many.” — R.B., mother of a wounded veteran “Thank you for your support throughout our deployment. It is greatly appreciated as well as needed. With the increasing numbers of troops, your care packages are a great enjoyment for the Soldiers and Marines. You and your Foundation are making the deployment a little easier by allowing troops to save money that they would spend on supplies. Your donations remind us of the simple pleasures back home in the States that we didn't realize we missed until you provided them. It makes us remember why we are fighting, for people like you. Thanks to you and TREA Memorial Foundation, the Soldiers' hopes are higher than ever.” — Captain H.L., Afghanistan
